Ally of the light, not of the darkness

Sometimes, you have step back and wonder where we are heading. The same is true for the novel universe. Only, I know the end. The end of this narrative arc at least. Its going to be wild ride that will fit our times at least. The trick is making sure you are all there at the end understanding how everything came together.

Back when I first finished Song of Betrayal, when it still called Collide, I had these basic ideas: Gwen the cheerleader siren, the loss of her sister, and Tom the boy she knew who became a merman. As the story grew these things grew with it. So did the cast of characters around it. Everything got so much bigger as I fleshed out the world of the Assembly.

Tom changed first. From the basic surface teen who bribed his uncle to stay and got caught into the world of the assembly, to this son of a famous musician who met a girl online who turned out to be famous in her own right: grandniece of the biggest names in the music industry as well as a member of the assembly. He fell hard enough for her that he got shot saving her life.

Now 20 he is shepherding her sister in this massive scheme to save the assembly from destruction. Not something I expected.

Gwen changed as well. I always expected her to be light and kind. Her and Tom’s love story to be beautiful. Sadly, all this migrated to Lorelei. Gwen became who she really was: a smarter but darker person, who understands people but will still put her own wants and needs above them.

What does this have to do with the current book? Well, its where the narrative is at. As I edit ‘Song of Reconciliation’ (its final name) those pieces of Collide are indeed slamming into the new story. A lot are collapsing into a pile of rocks. The police pool scene where Tom transfigures the first time; gone. He did that in Melbourne, 3 years before.

This also brings several other things into force. I finally removed Jen the traveler from the novel. Of the four scenes she was in, the first Reagan replaced her. The final three she is replaced with Valiere the cat person. Yes, cat people.

This book I explain how the assembly came about, how the Archive came into existence and elaborate on the Hall of Remembrance scene. You see Atlan society with a little taste to why all the Assembly seems to be christian. Along with it is a more elaborate linking of the cat people, Gellicles, to the Assembly.

Here is the fun thing about copyright: Jellicle cats are a fictional^[1] type of feline from T. S. Eliot‘s 1939 light poetry book Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. Jellicle cats were first mentioned in Eliot’s 1933 poem “Five-Finger Exercises” and later developed in Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. They were given further characterization in Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s 1981 stage musical Cats, which was based on Eliot’s book. The large cast of diverse cats is an important part of the worldbuilding of Cats. Many of these characters originated from Eliot’s book, while others are named after characters from other works by Eliot or were invented for the musical.

To be clear, the Eliot estate owns the rights to Jellicle cats, the names and the Cats broadway musical imagry. It doesn’t own the idea of anthropomorphic cats having their own society, singing or dancing to achieve a better life. There is even a prevailing theory that jellicles are dead and the place they live is their purgatory.

So I grabbed the idea and ran with it. My cats are outcast members of Atlan society genetically engineered for a purpose that got freed when the assembly did. They escaped the wrath the assembly did and spent the last 6000 years exploring and growing in anticipating of the return of the assembly to live with them.

Then there is Taylor the character. I have a solution in the event there is an issue. However, I would perfer there isn’t. She fits better as herself. This will be the only book where you will see her tail thought. There is a lot of work in the discretion as well as fitting it into the available time.

Lastly, there is the focus of editing history. In addition to the removal of the UN which I explained, I also inverted the CDC, renaming it, Red Hash. I’ll explain more in a different post. Its not detrimental, as the NIH has always done most heavy lifting.

There is no real way to remove Mao without functionally changing the entire course of the twentieth century beyond what I wanted. So as much as it saddens me, he continues to do what he did. However, I can mitigate certain events. The Rape of Nanjing is one of those. Also, Reagan is deeply involved in those changes. She became much more than the girl who simply was a cheerleader in Homecoming Song.

In fact, the editing changes lead to the point that the only young people are Gwen, Lorelei, Tom and Chelsey. Everyone else looks young. Reagan, whose real first name is Aja, is almost 200.

Following the finish of Song of Reconciliation, I still plan on a book addressing the MTV video music awards 2009 which will reveal the career transition of Gwen. It will also establish Reagan as a warrior in her own right, explaining why 20th century history is as different as it is. Once I finish that, all that is left is the final series book where the concert that moves the world, described in Song of Hope, takes place.

Eventually, I will publish the archive of everything I am compiling about the assembly reality. I named it Mythic Notes. It will have detailed timelines of the main characters, historical figures and several altered events as well as maps of the areas in question. Hopefully, you all will discover there is more than the climb.

Diversity and Privilege

So the virus is tearing through society and now we are dealing with the fruits of centuries of racial hatred. One of the things I promised way back in the beginning was this would as ac urate as I could. Here’s an interesting fact: whales and Dolphins are grey because of the hemoglobin. So I promised a diverse cast of people. I am delivering. From support of the correctly pigmented ariel, to the fact that 80% of assembly is copper toned or darker, I am doing my part to ensure diversity.

Yet, that isn’t enough. No there won’t be lessons about white privilege. Yet there will be discussions on privilege. The assembly are the most privileged and this can lead to abuses and injustices. Not everything is roses. So in Reconciliation Song (the actual name of the other half of Collide) you have that. I will probably run in issues with including Taylor as an active character but well thats my burden. I am a swiftie and have several albums. So lets say its a labor of love.

That being said, its almost half way done, you get more Atlantis, actual mermaid origins, orgins of the archive and Hall of remembrance as well as Gwen’s uplift. And I decided not to kill Tyrion. I hope to get it finish before the election.

Insanity in the rose garden…

If you know me, you know I don’t talk politics unless it relates to my novel series universe. That hasn’t changed. However, I do have a purpose for this post. I finally have images of my characters. I talked in the past about how I used Jamie Andries and others to help picture Gwen and the others in my mind. That’s great for me. Not so great when it comes time for covers or making other properties.

I am trapped which what they do. I have been thankful Ms. Andries had a very robust cheer career, loves to model and travel so I could see various sides of her personality. Yet she isn’t Gwen. Nor was I interested in reaching out to her for a novel deal. She became a public relations manager for Rebel Cheer, of all things. (Incredibly proud).

So I am back to Square one, that same square I was in 2013. The images I posted in 2014 won’t work. Then, GANs and deep fakes came along showing me the good side of tech. Thispersondoesntexist generated the pictures I needed.

I present to you Lorelei Breton Cetus and Tom Istan. Each looks as close to the actor or actress I chose to base the character off of. So moving forward this is what I will use.

I have images of Lee, Tyrion, Gwen, Portia, Shelly, Reagan, Aria, Chelsey, the Taft Babysitters club, Kent and Coach Delamort.  When I release Mythic Notes, I will release the images of all the characters.

I released these here because, I just sent to the publisher the combined volume of the first three books. This way anyone who wants to can read the books in chronological order. Considering I published Midnight Train Song shortly after Song of Betrayal in 2014, its been a long time.

As I said, its never been about money. This is all the marketing I will ever do unless someone famous discovers this one I get on TV and talk about it. And Yes, behind them is Booker Field. (for those smart enough to notice, I used Allen Eagle stadium 2012 shot).

The volume will be $17 and is 614 pages 6×9. The mock up looks beautiful. You get the sense of who each person is. Lorelei standing in the 3rd floor Taft High hallway and Tom with a swimming pool behind him.

Oh, I decided Operation Valkyrie succeeded. (Yes, Hitler got assassinated in 1944) This is what I get for watching the Plot Against America.   It’s good, watch it. Also, I highly suggest Westworld. They are scaring the f*** out of you again. This time without violence.

Finally, did a little research into how COVID-19 kills people. To TL;DR it, the assembly can’t get it because of their gills. The way hemoglobin works in them is just enough different that it can’t strip the oxygen out. Without that they become asymptomatic. (they don’t get colds either). They do get Ick though as I pointed out in Song of Hope.

Well, time to wrap this up. Just remember no matter what happens this year, my characters have it worse. Only a billion people crossed to the new world ( different reality set in the past. Yes, I said in Song of Hope its 30 million but, there is no promise I will stick to that until I actually write it. Now that I established that the Atlan also jumped realities, its easier to find an empty earth in modern times that simply had nothing.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Well, as I am typing this, the entire world is suffering from an virus that is forcing us to hide. Not to socialize or travel. It forces us to focus necessities. This is a double edged sword for me. My job (the one that pays my rent) is considered essential according to the US department of Homeland Security. So work in the amongst the public dealing with deadly contagion.

This is the perfect time to craft my stories, promote them and have you read them. Only, I am one of the lucky few who doesn’t have a quarantine. So no spare free time. Today is in fact the first time in two weeks I have got enough spare time to do this. So what have I been doing with my time. Finishing Passion Song and setting up the rest of the series. With the completion of Passion Song, I achieved the goal I set when I finished Homecoming song. I finished the beginning. From introducing Lorelei, to fleshing out who the Assembly is to actually revealing how different their world is from ours (its not just them), in those four books I weaved a rich history to work in.

To give a taste of what is actually different, here is a top ten differences.

1. Two totally different US Presidents. No Clinton or Wilson. Champ Clark is president in his place (he was Wilson’s speaker of the House) and Johnathan Graefs (pronounced Graves) former governor of Arizona is in Clinton’s place. (Clinton didn’t run because he was only governor of Arkansas once.)
2. No United Nations. The St. James Meeting that the UN points to as its founding, happened but then the building was bombed by the Assembly as certain members were Piscine.
3. What we call Pedophile island owned by Epstein, instead was colonized by Tyrion Cetus in the 17th century while he was functioning as a Japanese imperial citizen. In fact that Virgin Island was a part of the Japanese Shogunate until the end of 1863. The smaller of the two islands called Lesser St. James, has a Replica Himeji now used as a private hospital for the Assembly.
4. Port Royal the pirate city is now the capital of Jamaica instead of Kingston.
5. In environmental work Greenpeace competes with Thalassa: spirit of the sea.
6. Archeologists know where Atlantis is, just like we know where Troy is. Its in Mauritania, Africa. We call it the Eye of the Sahara.
7. What they don’t know is that it was called Atlan and rivaled Rome and America for scope and breath of its technological prowess. They figured out of to travel to other realities as well as across the planet. In fact its how the assembly survived the commentary impact that flooded the entire planet in 5304 BC (what we call the creation event)
8. The movie and music landscape is different with far less rap, hip hop and ethnic music. Much more rock, 80s style pop and jazz exist.
9. Post World War II divided up a bit differently allowing for a couple of different countries to exist that don’t here. The same is said for Africa. Somalia doesn’t exist as its capital was wiped out by Super Typhoon Gwarosa in April 2007 and the tribes roam in bands along the border of Ethiopia. Without a UN, no real help came outside of NGOs that quickly discovered they were unwelcome. One year later most of the tribes vanished as well, from starvation or escape.
10. Did I mention that largest archive of human history rested under Mount Ross of Kerguelen. Its also where the youngest of the Atlan gates is (or the oldest usable gate is)

This is just minor plot points and other things mentioned.  The order of books is now:

• Song of Route 91
• Song of Hope

Passion song is the tenth formally published story of this arc, not including the ‘Faking it!’ fan fiction. Also, the entire beginning is now available. It makes Song of Betrayal more powerful now as you know who Lorelei is, and why she is suffering.

This leads into where the arc is going. I decided awhile ago to that I wanted to finish the other half of Song of Betrayal. Then I wanted to write book on Gwen’s balancing her music career with being a mermaid and one on Taiji.

More or less this is what I will be doing. The editing of the other half to get it to match what I have revealed (alot of things changed but not so much that I can’t edit it into something usable) will be first.

Then there is this idea I got that I don’t want to lose. Another fanfiction story involving the cast of Unreal. You know that lifetime show that mocked Bachelor by showing you the behind the scenes. Well, I got the idea to use characters similar to two minor characters. So why not use Tom to solve the one problem Unreal refuses to address; consequences for is main characters.

The story will take place across 2017-2018 revealing exactly how powerful Tom has gotten but in being a circlemaker and as a broker. If you watched the problem it will be a fun piece that rolls my characters into Unreal (or Unreal into my world). And the only deviation is Quinn never finds the camera. It won’t be draft2digital published, just posted on Archive of our own and here in pdf.

Then I will do a story that will fit right after Homecoming Song involving MTV VMA 2009. Since I gutted most of the winners from that, (no Katy Perry, no Kayne, no Beyonce nominated) I will do one around the show itself.

Then there is the Taiji story.  I don’t know if I actually plan on finishing it. If I do I will let you all know. This should take me all the way to 2022.

In reality, I don’t think this age has much more past that. This is why I really am not marketing it. The story matters, whether I make money on it doesn’t. The internet will survive and so will the books.

Draft2digital finally allowed me to use my own fonts in my pdf. Yes the print size is 8 1/2 by 11 but I will figure out how to make it smaller later. 8 1/2 by 11 is coffee table sized but its got the correct fonts and you can finally see the assembly characters.

Finally, on Covid-19, to those of us who actually read this, its going to end sooner rather than later. This month will the last we need of social distancing for most of the US outside of NYC. It wont be as bad as they say in the press conferences. As for the economic fall out. Well, that I can’t say. Anyway, Nothing changes until everything changes. So until then, I bid you good journey. For every destination is but a doorway to another.

 

Its been a while…

This is quick, but I wanted to let you know that I am still here and still writing. No Christmas story this year. Eventually I will do one about Santa. I finished Heartbeat song. Its out everywhere. I didn’t use the song because well the way I expected the story to go would have allowed the song to appear organically at the end. To get to that end lengthened the book far longer than I liked so, it will be in Passion song.

Passion’s primary story is the three days after the massacre. You understand Lorelei’s sacrifice and the two big secrets that drive Tom. You see what a assembly funeral is and I give you more history.

What is Passion song? I discovered when writing heartbeat song and procrastinating that I needed to fix all the things I could before I leave 2007. Its a foundation for a lot of upcoming things, explanations for how things rolled out in Song of Route 91 and Song of Hope. I introduce Charity Hospital, as well as do Tyrion’s backstory. This way when you get to him is the other half of Song of Betrayal, you won’t dismiss it.

For example, Bill Clinton is not president in the Assembly reality. He never ran. Instead Alexander Graef takes his place. Similar to the Netflix show Graves only without the anger and subtext. Also Nixon knew about the Assembly. Its things like that.

Finally, I am working on a compendium of all the historical changes. I hit a wall on the amount I could remember and notes so I am documenting them. I will publish (so I can have a copy) and I think you might find it interesting. It will have some deeper explanations than the narrative will provide as well. It will only have fictional characters that interact with real people. Also events that were altered and a list of all the gate locations. A origin of the assembly will be added because I created that for another website and never followed up. I liked it.

A list of all the shows I tip the hat or shout out too will be in it, so you can get the jokes. It will be continuously updated via ebook. However, the print bound version (as my publisher does this now) probably won’t be.

Finally, thanks to Bryant street publishing and Scribd.com, I decided to submit my manuscript for the first three books together to them to be published. They offered anyone who won nanowrimo (me) to submit their 50,000 work (mine is a combined total of 86000) to be considered for publication. So I converted the piece of Midnight train song to their format, and sent it in. I will let you all know if they want more or pick it up. I would love it print published as a whole. It would connect everything better.

Falling Ashes and shifting tides

I chose today to post this update today because like the events of 18 years ago in my story timeline I am dealing with the aftermath of the shooting. Heartbeat song is published and available at any online retailer you can name. Its available in print bound by my publisher draft 2 digital as well.

The final novel of the first group and the official fouth novel is called Passion song. It deals with Lorelei’s chose to stasis herself called ‘astheneo’. This is what happens to the bodies of the fallen Assembly members prior to them being stood in Antarctica. This book also explains why Lorelei feels the need and why in Song of Hope, Tom is moving all of society. When you read it, you will actually agree.

You will also see the reborn Charity Hospital in New Orleans, discover that not only there no Epstein in the Assembly reality (his grandfather fell off the boat and drowned on the way to the new world. So sad.), but why Taiji is the villian. It has to do with ancestry and the shogunate at the beginning of Edo period Japan. You get more of who Tyrion is, who the Cetus family is, and a reminder that Tom is his Uncle’s cousin.

You get a Virgin Islands with Japanese castles on it. The tie in to Faking it, and well as some new characters that will carry over in the second series books. Finally, you will get a keep in to Aria and why she doesnt want to be a regenerist. I expect it to be smaller than the last two.

Of course, following this is the book that comprises the second half of Song of Betrayal. That will be August 2009. I am doing a book that will revolve around the 2009 MTV music awards because its completely different in my reality.

When the Graverobber’s people blew up beyonce’s house and studio while she was on tour in Japan, it delays two things and ends one.

1. Solange loses her window which ends her career before it begins.
2. ‘I am Sasha Fierce is delayed a year. So it doesn’t get into awards that year. So it doesnt win any awards.
3. No Kanye, he died in an auto accident in 2002. So no ‘I’m going to let you finish’

In Passion Song you learn Tom is disappointed that Taylor (yes that Taylor. You didn’t know she was a Siren? Really?) doesn’t chose Siren Song as her label. So he decides to not support her but not distance her either. This will become important when Gwen starts interacting with her. So with all that, I am crafting a simialr awards show with my flow of musicians. It should take place after Homecoming song if I understand the chronology right. If not then I figure out something.

Third series is Gwen as Jem and the Holograms. Three books 2010-2016. That last book will reveal the Dakou Anastatis of Lorelei: her tearful ressurection. Yes, Lorelei purposely doesn’t tell her sister for a reason that will be revealed in Passion Song.

I don’t have a projected about of books in total yet. Since Passion Song will be 8, it could be 16 when I am finished. It could be 21. I don’t know. Well that’s it. #Honor911 talk soon.

The blood rimmed tide flows

No day shall erase April 12th 2007 from the memory of time

April 12: This is a somber day. A day of reflection. You look within and recount what effects this day wrought and hope you overcame it and grew from it. You stand in vigil and talk of those you knew and how they affect you. You weep and mourn as time heals.

So do you remember what this day represents? Of course not, because here, in our reality, nothing happened. The next closest horrific event is Virginia Tech shooting on April 16th. Yet in the Assembly reality, today is the day of the Taft High Massacre, 12 years ago. 12 people died and 70 were wounded. Two were killed by Coach Delamorte and 10 by John Jay Rinch. He also was blamed for the three IEDs that went off in the school injuring 70 students and exaerbating the panic that had already consumed the school and the city.

I created this years ago to fill in some missing holes in the narrative when I was writing Song of Betrayal. Its raw, dirty and not well done. I never really cleaned it up because I never planned on publishing it. But some else changed that. More on that a bit later.

The reason for this post today is this would be the final day for the Assembly characters on their birth earth. Its the day the ‘repairer of the breach’ prophecy is fulfilled and the day all those assembly that had fallen rise again, to help build the new world. Its also the end of the story arc and the end of the series.

While I have no issues with doing stories on the new world, I won’t until I am finished with the rest of the series. This world is far more interesting than our own because things continue to move a bit differently. Like Brady-American (watch the last Tycoon on Amazon. Its actually good.) or the Redlanders (also watch Tiderlanders which I have talked about). Having a group that can change the forces of fate makes for an interesting world.

So about that other thing. It turns out that Archive Of Our Own is up for a Hugo award. First, what is a Hugo Award?  The Hugo Awards are a set of literary awards given annually for the best science fiction or fantasy works and achievements of the previous year. Its the literary equivalent of the Oscar. Not every author gets nominated and its a very prestegious thing to get. It means all your hard work and vision is noticed and honors by peers.

Like those celebrities who say when they walk the red carpet that ‘Its enough to be nominated.’ Its that level of OMG.

So what does this have to do with me and the Assembly storyline? Well, I am apart of Archive of Our Own.  This is explains how. Archive of Our Own is a nonprofit open source repository for fanfiction and other fanworks contributed by users. The site was created in 2008 by the Organization for Transformative Works and went into open beta in 2009. As of 2019, Archive of Our Own hosted 4.7 million works in over 32,000 fandoms.

So my love for FakingIt! and the choice to create Amy’s Journal entries along with the written finale added me to the list. Since I incorporated them into my reality this tangentally means that my works are being recognized. This is spectatular.

So for me this when from a somber day that I posted on my calender to remind myself to stop collecting news reports for novel use to a minicelebration that I never expected would happen. So as for Faking It! I did what I promised. I included Karma and Amy into Song of Hope. Amy has the larger part being that she happens to be a near twin of Lorelei. They both will have a greater part in the final novel of the series

When I post the list of novels, I called the most recent one ‘the widening breach’ I wasn’t aware that this is a name of a current scholarly work on race relations and genetics so I changed the title to ‘Song of Hope’. Gwen sings in it so yes, it qualifies.

The story wraps up the events of the Las Vegas Night in Song of Route 91 and explains in more detail about Lorelei’s ressurection, about what a Circlemaker can do and what the ‘repairer of the breach’ is. It also gives more input into who Emmet is and who he was. I even explain how its possible for Lorelei and Amy to be mirrors. I published a couple of days ago so its available at Barnes & Noble right now for $1

Song Of Hope

With that published, I am now back to finishing Heartbeat Song. This brings me to the final topic of the night, Big Charity.

Apparently the problems with Charity Hospital were worse than I knew. Katrina simply gave LSU and the state an excuse to permanently close the hospital. The hospital had been preennially underfunded because of its age and massive bulk. LSU wasn’t interested in the hospital. It wanted something new that it could charge for, among other reasons. So a short story about how Tyrion and Emmett save Charity the night of the hurricane wouldn’t reallys ave the hospital unless the Hospital belonged to one of them.

So the simple solution is Tyrion owns it. The short story would be a burst of scenes from the twentieth century revealing how Tyrion meets the head of the Sisters of Charity and how he gets involved in Charity hospital though his purchasing the 3rd incarnation (Big Charity, the current empty building) in 1991 from Louisana DHH rather than have it go to LHCA and slowly die. LSU could continue to use the hospital to teach and study but it would have to pay for the privilege. Also, with the size of the building with proper upkeep would lock LSU out from creating another one. Especially if Charity remained free.

I never talked about where Tyrion invested and spent his wealth. This would also explain why he has such a negative attitude about the surface.

I don’t plan on doing that now because I have delayed Heartbeat song enough.

Finally I have settled on a path for Gwen’s career. It will be similar to Jem from Jem and the holograms. Song of Route 91 and Song of Hope gave me the idea that the only way Gwen could rival Taylor is if she appealed to similar audiences. That hook would similar songs and holographic shows. Ie Jem. Basically Gwen takes Katy Perry’s place only much better at writing and singing. Aria shares some of Ariana Grande’s spotlight (she does exist) and I cannonized the fact that Justin Beiber is in fact Michael Cote when I formally published Christmas circle as an ebook.

So as of right now, these celebs have changed paths.

Kanye West: died in 2002 in auto accident before career took off.

Katy Perry: Never got out of Christian Contract, continued to make christian music, never meet those who made her doubt.

Was transfered to United States Penitentiary, Pollock (USP Pollock) minimum satellite so he could write Aria’s songs for her.

Dr. Dre: Killed in a drive by on the way home from Vanguard Junior High School in Compton, in 1976 due to gang violence. He was 11 at the time. Yes this means there are no Beats headphones in the Assembly reality. They aren’t that good anyway.

So what happens to rap and Hip-hop? they remain niche music like EDM.

Eazy-E: Eric Wright dropped out of high school in the tenth grade. Wright supported himself primarily by selling drugs, introduced to the occupation by his cousin. He was killed in a drug sale gone south in 1985. (all of this is true expect it was his cousin who died here)

Antoine Carraby: Know to us as DJ Yella, He survived his high school in Compton. However, without Dr. Dre or Jerry Heller he never entered music. Instead, he became a prolific Porn producer. (its what he actually does today. He produced over 300 films)

Lorenzo Jerald Patterson: Known as MC Ren, Patterson joined the Kelly Park Compton Crips, but left shortly after he realized there was no money in the gang. He meet Wright in the gang though so Patterson began selling dope after watching people getting paid. He died in the same drug sale Wright did. His father continues to run a barber shop.

Gerald Elliot “Jerry” Heller: Heller, who had a history of heart problems and diabetes, was driving on September 2, 1984 when he blacked out, crashed his car, and later died at a hospital in Thousand Oaks, California.  He still worked at Coast Artists, Associated Booking and the Chartwell, and opened the Heller-Fischel Agency in Beverly Hills, California which grossed $1.9 million during its first year, $3.7 million the second, $5.8 the third, and over $7 million its fourth year of operation representing rock stars the Who, Grand Funk Railroad, Black Sabbath, Humble Pie, and Black Oak Arkansas as well as writers at the time Carly Simon, Van Morrison, and Cat Stevens. He later bought out partner Don Fischel who went on to package independent TV productions.  However, without him, hiphop was ignored by mainstream music with was still in hair-band rock and roll era and so allowed for bands like Stanton House Band, (go watch Roadies, its really good.) and Eddie Duran to catch breaks instead.

In fact, Station House will cross paths with Gwen at the 2010 grammys. I will probably incorporate this into a Roadies Fanfic and post it on AOC3, but then again this is after finishing Heartbeat Song.

O’Shea Jackson Sr.: Also known as Ice Cube. However, even though he wrote and performed Rap in High school, this got him no fame or anything else because of Eazy E not being alive. He enrolled at the Phoenix Institute of Technology in the fall of 1987 in Arizona. Being passionate about architecture, he studied architectural drafting. So without rap being anything other than street preformance art. (without Heller or Dr. Dre Music wasn’t interested in it, seeing no money to be made from it. Heller was the one who convinced them) He became an architect. He will be in Song of Vengeance as the person who designs New Taft High and other buildings. However, he balances this with an acting career he gained starting in 1991.

Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor: Also known as Lorde. Thanks to the events in Homecoming Song it is revealed that Aria took the mixtape that would have lead to O’connor’s discovery. This pushes her discovery back to November 2011 when Lorde performed her original songs for the first time at the Victoria Theatre. UMG picked her up and her history continues as normal.

Harvey Weinstein: Weinstein, his brother Bob, and Corky Burger independently produced rock concerts as Harvey & Corky Productions in Buffalo through most of the 1970s. in reality. In the Assembly reality, they quickly run afoul of Emmett due their style and the fact they are in upper New York. By 1972, Emmett cuts them out and black balls them. Without the money from their concert promotion business, the brothers can’t create a small independent film distribution company named Miramax,  Instead, Brady distributes them. So any film distributed by Miramax is distributed by Brady which is owned by Siren Song. (ie Emmet across his incarnations)

In fact, Brady merges with Twentieth century Fox, becoming Brady Pictures and later Brady in 1938, so Weinstein would never had been successful regardless. He and his brother live out a life of obscurity scraping by as a Jeweler in NYC.

Finally, While Miley Cyrus does have her career (i changed my mind) certain songs arent hers any more.

Same with Selena Gomez etc. One final point to make. Donald trump is not president.

Neither is Hillary Clinton. Why? Because To help her better understand her changing political views, Professor Alan Schechter assigned Rodham to intern at the House Republican Conference and she attended the “Wellesley in Washington” summer program.^[32] Rodham was invited by moderate New York Republican Representative Charles Goodell to help Governor Nelson Rockefeller‘s late-entry campaign for the Republican nomination. Rodham attended the 1968 Republican National Convention in Miami Beach. In the Assembly reality, Nixon knew the Assembly as was specifically asked to not to protray Rockefeller negatively and nor make racist messages. He agreed and with it Rodham didn’t leave the Republican party, didnt write a thesis on Alisky and decided to accept the invitation to work with Nelson Rockefeller when he missed being nominated. Staying on when he was tapped as Vice President, she worked with his staff.

However without a law degree, she returned to school in 1976. Also without the hatred of Nixon, she was never involved in his impeachment or viewed a bright star. So she got a degree and clerked but because of the time in Washington she missed the window with Bill. Therefore, she never returned to power or prominence. She is simply an unmarried lawyer who works in NYC.

So who is president? I havent decided. Its not going to be a common person.

Happy International Mermaid Day!

Quick update!

The order of the series is as follows:

1. Midnight Train song
2. Song of the Gyre
3. Heartbeat Song

This is the first trilogy, the beginnings trilogy. It explains how the orgins of the main characters and the current story arc of Song of the Assembly. It is set in late 2006 to late 2007.

1. Song of Betrayal
2. Song of Vengeance
3. Homecoming song

This is the elevation trilogy. This explains how Gwen got into the royal linage and her fight with Aria. It also fleshes out Tom more. It is set in 2009 to 2010.

1. Song of Route 91
2. The widening breach
3. Song of Miracles

This is the final trilogy. This explains the breach prophecy. It is set in late 2017 to April 12, 2019.

I just finished the widening breach and with complete Heartbeat song by the end of the year.

Also, I incorporated Amy and Karma (of Faking It!) into the Widening breach making the fanfiction of the series canonical.

Tidelands and the amazing synergy of Australian mermaid stories

I am always amazed by the fact that only the Australians seem to be able to tell realistic mermaid stories. Not ones where they eat people or bastardization of Hans Christian Anderson, but real gritty stories of people who deal with hybrid humans who swim in the deep.

I got this idea for mermaids and mermaid culture independant of H20: just add water because the concept is old. Starbucks does it. Splash did it. And of course Ariel. Bith the lore is filled with fish people who can’t function as a society. They sing men to death and lay on stones.

The other stories gave idea to vast underwater cultures but always the main character either was not integrated into the surface so the struggle was integration or hiding who they were with no one else there. I loved them. I use pieces and ideas from everywhere.

But it was H20 that really helped my idea gel. Seeing the swiming made me think about it and how it would work. Yet H20 being teen was fairly light and shied away for hard issues. If you notice most of my stories tend to ignore those too. They are always interpersonal. The scene from Heartbeat song that addresses the upcoming Taft attack remains unpublished because that story isn’t finished.  In fact the darkest so far, is Homecoming Song’s attack on the Graverobber’s complex.

This is why I am so pleased with Tidelands. Its the opposite of Sirens and everything Sirens should have been. I am annoyed that I got keyed up about it only to be disapointed immediately with the dumb beast aspect. Sirens was basically Sharks who became people but still had basically were sharks. They had human bodies so they could ‘be’ people. But they didnt think like people. They thought like sharks. Cue sappy love and familial ties and you get their first season. No mer-society, just a buch of hokey legends around a sea species of Homo that go left behind 200000 years ago. They are working on it and the next season will be better.

Tidelands hits it out of the park. Produced by Hoodlum productions in association with Australian Netflix, it has the same feel as I try to give to my novels. Only theirs is much grittier, filled with broken people who do immoral things to make a living.  The main character Callopie comes back from 10 yrs in prison for burning someone alive (and their house) to discover that the dad she loved is dead, her brother is now a drug dealer and her mother hates her so much that she took her part of the will and spent it on a bar.

So what does this have to do with mermaids? Well they supply the raw component, that the brother needs to make the drugs to sell the to Chinese Traid. Those mermaids are hybrid humans who possess superstrenght, the ability to bend water and siren song.  They put out the eyes of anyone who they catch watching them and they live on the surface as a commune with no real leader but one middle aged blond woman who has a secret key to this one mansion they live around.

The story is about how the sister discovers who she is, who they are and how she fits into to all this. So why am I so excited? It fits exactly where I am going. The only difference between the tidelanders and Assembly warrior archetype: you cant see the gill slits on the tidelanders and they breath underwater with no trouble. Everything else matches.

My great houses are a little more structured than this but Tidelands is like watching my artistic vision come to life.

Which brings me to where I am on the stories.

1. No christmas story this year. I didn’t have anytime and by the time I discovered the Nutcracker it was too late.
2. I am writing ‘The widening breach’ with follows ‘Song of Route 91’ immediately.  All the events that were laid out in Song of Route 91 are addressed here. You also get a view of exactly how they plan to move the society. Its not pretty. Neither is Gwen’s growth into the Queen. The revelation that Tom worked behind her back to safe Lorelei from death came to a head in that story. Its fallout is here. As is her brokeness.
3. I decided that since I put Tom and Gwen into ‘Faking it’, that universe is apart of mine. So you see her fresh from Clement (which is in the heart of downtown Memphis) working on her singer career. If you have no clue what ‘Faking it’ is. Its a MTV show that got the short end of the stick, that deal with teen sexuality. Its really good. Also go read my story ‘We saw the dream’ after you watch the 31 30 minute episodes. Its my take on the finale and considering I folded their story into mine, its how I feel it flowed without breaking their canon.
4. Once I finish ‘The Widening breach’ I should enough info to finish ‘Heartbeat song’. Once that is done, I will do Song of Revelation (i never seem to remember, what I will call the book. It will be song of ‘something’)
5. With that I will essentially have 5 books of the series that can be read in order to get from late 2006 to sept 2009.
6. I will do books dealing with 2012 and the end of dagon and the other mentioned things here.
7. Finally, I decided that while Obama was president from 2009 to 2016 Mueller was killed in Vietnam
8. I rolled Amazon series ‘the last tycoon’ into the chronology. I will explain that in another post. Its how Emmett starts collecting his empire. Also a detailed explanation of how is in the Widening breach. So in SOA there is no 20th century Fox. Its ‘Brady’ instead. And CBS is ACN. This is why I love Tidelanders. For every Emmett who owns one quarter of all media, there is a woman who sells ‘drugs’ to make money. Its all about how the surface in inferior to the assembly.
9. Finally, On tumblr the adult nudity and sex purge continues. I am still unable to post stories there so I will continue to support them until they choose to shut down.

The magic of that moment on a glory night

Each time I finish and publish a story its like placing a puzzle piece down. I am slowly revelaing the remarkable picture of how the Assembly saved itself and the Earth. Of course this process is slow going and I haven’t put enough pictures to make true sense of everything. Nevertheless the stories should be able to stand on there own.

Having said that preamble, I want to announce that ‘Song of Route 91’ is now available on all digital platforms. Expect Amazon. I opted out of publishing the ebook on them. Yet, Scribd, Barnes & Noble, Apple Ibooks, Google and others now have it. It’s longer that the one I submitted for Nanowrimo coming in at roughly 30,000 words.  Also, to show that I am trying to have mermaids being in the ocean, (heh) the last 2 chapters are completely underwater. You see inside House Cetus 2018 and I reveal a dueling area so you get songs underwater.

This brings me to the reason for the title. In the story the decision is made about how to handle the burgening tech society of today in relation to the Assembly’s need for secrecy. How those consquences play out is revealed in a later story. That story as I mentioned earier could be the final one in this series. I dont know. I do know that its named ‘Song of the Children of Tommorrow’

That line and the title both come from the Scorpian song ‘Winds of Change’. That sound referenced the fall of soviet union and the impending freedom everyone thought was coming. For the Assembly, that night was the night before the Taft High Massacre. It will also be the night of the concert that will effectively save the assembly, Which was April 13 2018.

This brings me to another point. I decided to not subtitle them book ? of the Song of the Assembly series because I am writing them out of order and don’t know what actual number it will be until I write all of them. If I still do three groups of three books each, Song of Route 91 is the first of the last series.  However, this is the fifth book I wrote. Midnight Train song, Song of the Gyre and the unfinished Heartbeat Song are the first group of three. Song of Betrayal and Song of Transition (also unfinished. [its the third edit of the orginally much larger last six chapters of Song of Betrayal when it was called Collide]) are the first two of the second. Then there is Homecoming song and Christmas circle.

So rather that say book 5, I am going to give a timeline and then assign numbers when its actually complete.  The song of the Assembly series begins in early 2006 when Lorelei starts talking to Tom over the internet. Six months later puts you with the first meeting with Gwen in Midnight train song.  Song of the Gyre takes place during the 2006-2007 school year prior to the Taft High Massacre. HeartBeat song covers the night before, the Massacre and the days following. One of the final scenes is placing fallen Lorelei in Antarctica.

Song Of Betrayal, Song Of Transition and Homecoming song take place in 2009.  The first two take place in that 2009 part of the 2008-2009 school year while the other takes place in beginning part of the 2009-2010 school year.  Homecoming Song will be the last one that I believe at this moment will have Gwen in Forest Hills.  Her career takes off in 2010.

Christmas Circle took place near christmas 2016. There is a gap of 6 years that I need to fill in events like the fall of the Taiji, Tom becoming an olympian and Gwen getting her grammys etc. Plus a lot of bad changes as well.

The series will end on April 13 2018 unless I write a group of post ‘restorer of the breach’ prophecy books. It will end with the same character it began with: Lorelei. Rather that communicating with one man. She will be communicating with the world. So I am thinking 12 books. This other 3 will be around 2012.

On the topic of Siren, it got better. Its still not quite where I wanted it to be but it got better.  On this note, thanks to all who read this, clicked this link etc. I appreciate it.

CW’s Siren, Parkland and the darkness

Well, its been a few months since my last post. There are some things I wanted to address and update where things are.

First thing is the Parkland shooting.  I didn’t address this until now because I was waiting until everything played out. Unfortunately, this turned into a very avoidable situation that looks filled with bad actors, an ignored mentally ill individual with known violent tendancies, goverment interference among other things.  I am loathe to remove events as I said previously.  However, I am even more unwilling to keep things that need not existed because people want to evil for misguided reasons. So in the Assembly reason, Parkland doesn’t happen. Here is why.

As I was writing Route 91, I got to a point where I needed to show how much Chelsey and Tom were different than Lorelei remembers. At the time of the story, she’s only been ressurected six months most of which she spent in their old castle on Kerguelen. There would be no human contact there (the french base is on the other side of the island and the mountain is considered restricted to them because of its danger and the fact their isnt enough of them to effect a rescue) so she is still out of contact while reintegrating into society.

So when Gwen challenges an Atlantic News Reporter about the dome seeming to stop the bullets and her time on the stage, the reporter goes off to get permission. Gwen assumes he will fail and brushes it off without a thought. She is powerful now. Respected and not challenged. When Jacob comes to do exactly that, challenge her by not according her any honorifics, she leaves for Ondine without a second thought.

The reporter returns Chelsey expecting the interview of the year. It is to be broadcasted live on the final news hour of the night. Lorelei covers for Gwen and when the reporter returns with crew, she has masked herself as Gwen, acting like her when she was a teen Yet, its imposible to explain why bullets didnt penetrate the concert area if there was only light there. So to make this act believable, she changes the subject to the future Parkland shooting informing the reporter and the millions listening about Nicolas Cruz and why he isn’t currently in jail or institutionalized. Using the information publically availabe the night of the LV shooting, she insists this is part of the problem rather than ‘a 3d printer problem’

After the interview, Tom informs Loerlei that Gwen is now the face of Gun control and will not only have prevented Cruz from carrying out the shooting but others as well.

To be clear, I support the second amendment right to bear arms. I support the NRA and believe that additional laws solve nothing but keeping guns out of the hands of non criminals.

Yet, Lorelei wouldn’t know any of this and was deeking to prevent another shooting like she lived through. Tie this into the fact that Song of Route 91 is most likely now the 8th book in the series (I always seem to write out of order).

This leads to a problem I though I cured but didn’t. Like with ‘Summon the heroes’ I have too much story. STM should have been 3 books not 1 652 page tome (this is 9’x 6′) If STH were paperback it would be 1153, which is as large as a Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series novel or a George RR Martin Song of Ice and Fire novel.

I honestly don’t know when I quit until I do. Right now there isn’t much more forward after the fulfillment of the ‘restorer of the breach’ prophecy. Raising the fallen assembly isn’t it. Ressurrecting Lorelei isn’t it. Its much bigger than that. That WILL be the final book right now.  Song of Route 91 I am hoping to end with these scenes between Tom, Lorelei and Jacob but I might have one more with Reagan and Gwen.

This brings me to Siren, the CW show I looked forward too. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. When the season premiere came out, I watched it and accepted it was a more violent version of H2O just add water. You have Merfolk with only instinct and no real intellect (they are a human subspecies who can learn rapidly but dont in the deep blue). They simply swim, hunt and reproduce. That’s it. No society outside of primitate warrior bands. No speech. Yes, Ryn (the main mermaid character) exudes a balance of innocence and naivety with dangerous animalistic instinct.

On the flip side, in the first book, I introduce Lorelei as a Human teen who is smart, cute and just so happens to a mermaid. Not a dangerous beast who could captured, speared like a shark but fully human and fully in tune with her home enviorment of the ocean.

Then we have the government coverup of a mermaid capture. A washington town thats founded on mermaid lore and the Main character caught up in discovering another mermaid coming ashore to find the captured one.  We get violent Splash and H2O analogies. There is little story and little character development for the mermaid.

The story is really centered around MC and his life as the aquatic center etc. Tampabay.com complements the show on its diversity. “There are numerous people of color in leading roles, and characters with disabilities are defined by other traits beyond their disability.” Seriously, its about mermaids. Why does the race or ability of character matter.

I could do the same. In all the stories so far I have numerous people of color in leading roles. The King of the Assembly is dark skinned. Tom is half latino. Shae is mixed. The villians are asian but not limited to asian. This matters? No. Story does.  Then,  “As the series progresses, there are more hints that mermaid sexuality doesn’t adhere to any human-created gender norm.”

They aren’t human. They are a human sub species who obviously can’t reproduce in the same matter that human women can because those organs arent available underwater. That is very obvious. Yes, we draw this conclusion because Ryn’s sister is African skinned and they hold hands?

Finally, the “There’s also underlying commentary on the environmental impacts of overfishing on our place in the natural world.”

This is utterly meaningless if you dont explain how they breath underwater or survive at a depth that applies a quarter ton per square inch. The fact they surfaced for food means nothing if they can go down that far. Also the fact they can tear the head of off a shark also means that enviromental impacts are meaningless.

Why am I being this critical? Because I am just as guilty. When I started and somewhat still do, I focus on the land because thats easier to write and constant water scenes.  However, the heart of the Assembly IS the underwater ancient civilization that controls the surface. So I spent time reading about how to make compelling and believable merfolk.

From figuring out how to breath underwater realistically, to how ocean pressure works to supercavitation to wormhole travel and crystal power, I did my best to make it as real as possible. Certain things require bending of current physics, like the fact there simply isnt enough oxygen in the water to support humans always under water like the myth shows. Or using wormholes to travel rapidly across the planet because even at the fastest swim it takes weeks to cross.

Siren didnt do anything. No explanation of how they can breath in low oxygen enviroment or handle the quarter ton pressure of 150 fathoms. The CGI is beautiful and helpful but thats it.

I am on the fence about it. I want it to survive simply so I can get coverage about my own work. However, I have no interest in the son of the founding family of a town know for mermaids and how he lives his life or what happens when he and his mixed race gf (she’s aa and indian mix, Her father is indian) discover the mermaids are real.

Finally, this takes me to the darkness. Have you noticed this world is getting darker and more evil as we move forward. Its a syptom of a greater event brewing. I dont want to preach here so I wont but you beleive in Christianity, its time to get ready.

If you dont, then don’t worry nothing will happen to you that you don’t want. The world isnt ending. Society has changed and continues to do so. The change is already here People need to embrace it if you dont believe. My fiction will be here for you. At least until I vanish. At that point all bets are off.

Finally, I would like to say good-bye to Harry Anderson and R Lee Ermy who both left the mortal plane this week. I enjoying watching both of you as actors and will miss you. You both taught me lots. Thanks.

Well, I think this is the longest I have ever went without posting. Sorry about that.

Alot has happened since the last post. I posted Song of Route 91 on the Nanowrimo site. I then reedited it, so remove the junk and continue the story. (Sometimes I mash things together to meet the word count and cull it). In the process of reediting it, I guess I decided I would use it (as it is a now [ie Oct 2017] story) to fill in the gasps in Heartbeat song ( like why did Lorelei have to go, what happened to hers and Tom’s relationship, the prophecy etc). So suddenly, we now have a gate in the Luxor, and all this romantic baggage fit for an episode of ‘The Bachelor’.

I am going to wrap this story up shortly because if I don’t it will become a novel. It basically is now about the Tom, Lorelei, Gwen triangle and the fulfillment of the prophecy of the restorer of the breach. (its bigger than you thought). Also I get to use Jacob the Mighty who is doing the heavy lifting (because he started all this), questions will be answered and there will be more underwater actions (unlike Christmas circle).

After I finish it will appear here as well as on the book seller sites. Following that I will continue on with Heartbeat song which will deal with Taft High massacre, wrap up the story lines for everyone there (expect those who follow forward).

One thing I don’t think I will do is the actual scene where Tom goes to his uncle (Graverobber) to get the white onyx for Gwen. Why? because that can become a short story on it own.  Also, I kinda want to use some of the Repo songs in Heartbeat song.

Then again, I didn’t expect the story to take this turn while I was writing it either. I am only a few chapters in, but I figure it should top out at 50K. Its hard to write because its so sad. Still it needs to be filled in so there is a sense of where everything is so when the dramatic events happen they have the appropriate context.

Yes, I will have celebrities in this with their real name. There is no way around this, so I am putting a similar warning like I did in Christmas circle.  Also, I am confirming many more of my choices so I can have active paths for them. I have posted the current list of people who aren’t apart of the assembly reality so but I will update it in the future.

Also one final thing. When I started this version, it was 2011 and the person who I chose for Gwen, was still in high school (a sophomore). This year, 2018, she is a college senior. Time flies but it also helps put things in perspective. Hopefully, your 2018 will be good too.

Your friend in time, ‘Doc’ Emmett L. Brown Sept 1st, 1885

Now thats a crazy title, isn’t it? A piece of dialogue from ‘Back to the Future Part 2’. Yet it has a great deal to do with this update. So there are two things to address. Since the title is about movies I will address the one regarding it first.

I am loathe to edit my timeline unless absolutely necessary because:

1. I have to remember the alteration which I do by creating wikipedia entries. I do that by editing the code on the real wikipedia to my reality then print it to pdf. This makes it easier and more professional.
2. Any change has ripple effects. Kayne West dies before his first ablum. No albums, no associations, no marriage to Kim etc. I have to remember those two. So I try to keep those to areas I won’t be in and only make ones that will make the everything better in my estimation. Some people might love Kayne, or Katy Perry or Justin Beiber. I don’t. Honestly, they, in my estimation have not made things better. (Not that they are required too)
3. By having Emmett Cetus own Siren Song Records across the 20th century I have radically changed the industry already. This means alot of things here are not the same as in the assembly reality. So if I can leave well enough alone, I like too.

Unfortunately, that option was left out again with Harvey Weinstein. History reveals a man of brutish behavior who while in college started hustling musicians in Buffalo beginning with Stephen Stills and then when he formed Miramax with his brother continued those ways into the 90s. I would have liked to have made him a Piscine (a warrior of Dagon leader). However, the abominable sexual harrassment precludes this. In fact, his actions are more suitable for a porn producer than a Hollywood one.

So I am left with 2 options: remove him entirely from the timeline or remove his contribution. I opt for the second. There is no proof that his brother Bob is like him. There is proof that Bob is still married and few speak ill of him personally. So, I did my research, discovered this:

1. Crosby Stills and Nash were signed by Atlantic, as was the Buffalo underground. Since in the Assembly reality, Siren Song owns Atlantic at that point as well as Emmett being a Politico, the solution is remove Harvey from promoting Stephen while Harvey and Corky were in SUNY. That shove would lean Corky enough to NOT form a company with Harvey to promote bands in Buffalo. This also removes the money to save to launch the studio.
2. Fund Sex, lies and Videotape and secure distribution before Stephen Soderberg takes it to Sundance. That removes the first major movie for Miramax. Repeat this with Pulp fiction. Without these two, Miramax doesn’t become powerful, and it most likely is consumed by Disney in the nineties and vanishes.

Even if this doesn’t happen, this takes away the two cornerstones of Harveys career ensuring that he doesn’t get to work for himself and be the raging asshole and sexual pig he is.

Does this fix the endemic problem Hollywood has with sex, drugs and breaking people? No. It simpy removes a problem. 25 movies including some I enjoy.  SMH

ON the flipside, I will post the new wikipedia for Old viacom, current CBS. While looking to solve another problem for ‘Heartbeat Song’ that Emmett needed to own Viacom. Well, found that was easy. Simply block Sumner Redstone from buying it.

Considering how powerful Emmett is at the opening of Midnight Train Song. Its not hard to believe that he was already a billionaire for the bulk of the 20th century. While the surface people believe that Emmett is his own grandson, to the assembly this isn’t a big deal. So Siren Song buys Viacom and history continues. Sumner Redstone remains a bit movie house player.

This means that Siren song also owns MTV too. Which further guarentees that Harvey Weinstein simply never gets involved in Hollywood. I am of the option of actually having him removed more forcefully from the timeline and mentioning it in ‘Song of Route 91’

This leads me to the second part. After the massacre in Las Vegas and the seeming cover up that is happening (even if it is just incompetence it looks suspecious) I decided to write a short story set in now with Gwen and Tom. This is set after Gwen becomes Queen and after Tom and her wake up/resurrect Lorelei. The story actually revolves around Gwens emotions about this.

The three decide to stop the massacre since they are at the festival as guests. Song selection reveals emotion and tells the story while you see a bit more of the older mature Tom struggle with the fact he needs to choose who he is with.

It follows the timeline where the shooter fires for 10 minutes starting at 10:06 pm. I will post it here when i am finishing editing it. Orginally, I used firework and an orginal song. I am dumping firework and going more gospel.

So as of this point, the people removed or no longer having the influence in Assembly reality they have in ours are:

1. Katy Perry (as she remains a christian artist since her label didnt die)
2. Kanye West (who died in the auto accident he survived in 2002)
3. Justin Beiber (who thanks to the onion parody is a pedo named Michael cole)
4. Dr. Dre, Eazy-E,  DJ Yella and MC Ren (all are dead while growing up in Compton due to the neighborhood they lived in via drive bys etc)
5. Ice Cube. (who became a executive chef in his own restuarant in the Luxor.)
6. Jerry Heller (who had a history of heart problems. His first Heart attack was in the 80s so instead of surviving it and living on to help creat Hip-Hop, he dies of it)
7. Emimen (without Dr. Dre he doesn’t escape 8 Mile. Orginally I was going to have someone else help him but aftre his anti-Trump tirade, no.)
8. Harvey Weinstein

I have not removed the Clintons or any other powerful politicans because, well, they can be Piscine.

I do believe that covers everything. Story should be live by the end of the week. Sadly, it will be the only one as I wont be able to make another Christmas one. Its not large enough for Nanowrimo so You all might see something else I have buried for this year.

Storm of the century

Well, I and my dwelling place survived Huricane Harvey and the ensuing floods that swamped Houston. I am thankful I don’t have to replace anything. I didn’t lose anything either. I am blessed.

However, Irma appears to be far worse than any other storm that hit Miami so my heart goes out to them. It’s going to be brutal and the cleanup, long.

Nevertheless, this post is more about the story universe and hurricanes affecting it than our own sadness. There is enough of that on the 24 hr news. Pick one.

First off, I discoverd on Irma’s track that the eye crossed of the Bahamain cay I chose to put Cetus gate on. Before I split Song of Betrayal in two, there was a chapter that revealed its location and was the actual intoduction to Lord Tyron Cetus, Gwen’s grandfather. This was a scene he talked to Jen about the world while examining illumi crystals (of which the workers harvest for him from the depths of the gulf.

The scene its self won’t see the light of day as the story now has changed too much. Jen is gone and the need to introduce Tyron is as well. (He was introduced in ‘Song of the Gyre’). Yet I will find a way to introduce Sal cay.

In fact, dealing with these things actually makes me act questions about weather and oceanography. Its also why I don’t have these cute things like glass jars or stone castles etc underwater. I think about how it would really work. Ask the hard questions.

So to be clear, here is a list of facts about the oceans in the Assembly world:

1. the oxygenation levels in their oceans are 3x the amount in out oceans at mininum. This higher amount allows for the same level of functionality underwater. However, the assembly members being a separate species (homo cetacea) have other abilities that allow breathing even our oceans. However in ours they wouldn’t been able to live in the sea.
2. The effect of this is there is far less bacteria and algae colonies that breathe dissolved oxygen. Instead they breath nitrogen and carbon dioxide.This means the drastically increased amount of fertilizer we use to produce ever higher crop yields does not have the same effect when that fertilizer runs off into our waterways, eventually making its way to the ocean. With nitrogen breathing algae exponentially increasing to feed on the massive delivery of food the increase of CO2 does increase the same, only the O2 doesnt deplete. This, in turn, doesn’t kill fish or create dead zones in the Gulf of Mexico
3. Basic principals of chemistry and physics dictate that colder liquid can hold more dissolved gas than a warmer liquid so the Assembly oceans match ours in that respect. Its why there first home on the surface and below was Kerguelen. Sub-antarctic islands and seamounts have more oxy dissolved. Also the cold doesn’t affect them like it does us.
4. The upper levels of the ocean are typically strongly stratified by temperature and by salinity. That is, colder, saltier water lies below the warmer, fresher water near the surface. When a hurricane comes by, it mixes everything up, resulting in a muddled and more homogeneous upper ocean. That means the surface water is cooler and saltier than it was previously was, and deeper water is warmer and less salty than it previously was. However, in very shallow coastal areas, the copious amount of fresh cold rain water from the hurricane can actually reduce the temperature and salinity of the near-surface water. While this sounds good, its not.
5. Intense hurricanes can generate 60’+ waves, and at the ocean surface, the boundary between the water and the air becomes nebulous. Amidst the formidable waves, sea spray and foam streak horizontally across the surface at high speed. Below the ocean’s surface, the currents and turbulence beneath those waves can also be quite destructive. Unlike places above the surface, the ocean doesn’t “forget” about the storm quickly. Strong currents and turbulence tend to exist up to a week after the storm passes overhead. Damaging currents can extend down to at least 300 feet below the surface, capable of dismantling coral reefs, relocating ship wrecks, breaking oil pipelines, and displacing huge volumes of sand on the seabed.

That’s why I picked the Great Barrier Reef for the capital location instead of the reefs around the Bahamas. I’ve given thought to this.

As for ‘Heartbeat Song’ I will have a few new characters, and I linked in why Red shield (rothschild, bildenberg etc) is mentioned. Chelsey’s adoptive parents is one of them and its an in joke that you might get if you are a fan of 80s shows or Scott Baio.

The others are more of me deciding to use reality to my advantage and adjust things.  This is me fleshing out Chelsey so I have no character that is just a side show if they are assembly. Its fleshing out to be a book that’s larger than than the other two approaching the size of ‘Song of Betrayal’.

Yes I am still here.

Sorry that I haven’t posted in a while. My life has been eventful and it hasn’t lent itself to posting. It’s august now and I haven’t posted anything.

So, here we go:

1. I am at the point in Heartbeat Song where I will have to write the actual attack. The actual attack will be Lorelei’s pov and it will explain how a member of the assembly can be killed with a gun even though they have thick skin and muscles.
2. Aria is introduced in this story but won’t interact with the rest of the characters. She will spend the bulk of her story underwater. Also, you will get through her a small story about the LA gate.  Also, I chose Katie Stevens as her. She can sing, there is pics of her when she is sixteen on the net, she is an awesome person and well, I love her acting.
3. The LA hasn’t always been in LA it was originally in Vancouver. That is where Stargate SG-1 was shot.
4. Hopefully you will see how everyone changes for the worse from this book to Song of Betrayal
5. I have decided to reuse Jen’s character. She is now Eliza and is an engineer who got the same disease (philia) Gwen got. You will see how she solves getting to the throne room.
6. This story also lets you in on a secret that only Tom and Chelsey share.
7. Chelsey’s parents are Charles and Gwendolyn from ‘Charles in Charge’. She herself was adopted by them because Gwendolyn can’t have children. Charles is now a Professor at Princeton (2007)
8. Decided to worry about dealing with copyrights on dead shows until I get visible enough to get actually noticed.
9. That being said, I have formally abandoned the ‘Faking It’ fan fiction stories as unworkable. I can’t make the leap without using a kludge to explain the time differential.  I have a better idea and its why I posted it in 6. You will like it.
10. Also, Faking it is dead as well. I don’t have the money to pay from what it would cost to get complete rights even for story so there you go. Besides My ending was better than the one everyone was left with.

What about Cleveland?

So what about Cleveland. Really there is nothing about in the series, to be mentioned. I used this title because its topical and fits with the theme of this post. Its about updates on the series.

So why Cleveland? Well as I am writing this, there is a serial killer roaming its streets this Easter evening seeking a fifteenth person to kill on facebook live. Kinda horrible right? Well, in the book ‘Heartbeat Song’ that kinda where I am at. Right up to the point where I have to create the Taft Massacre that you all saw pieces of in Song of Betrayal and Homecoming Song. Each over these you saw from Tom and Gwen’s prespectives respectively. However, you never saw Lorelei’s because at that point, she is dead.

That’s the first reveal. She isn’t actually dead. She’s in the same statis they put all the corspes they place is the Hall of Memories in Antarctica. The difference is, she didn’t die before the statis field was applied. She went into hiberation. That happened because Tom would let her die. He loved her too much. So she had to tell him the truth about the vision she saw about the repairer of the breach.

Its heady stuff, dark drama that happens on the day of the attack. This story finishes out the first trilogy (Midnight Train song, Song of the Gyre and Heatbeat Song) which also finishes Shae and Kent’s story line, finishes the introduction of Tom and Gwen as well as the major players of the second trilogy.

Sorry about the wierd way I am writing it, its just this is the way its coming. At least when this story is finished there will be at least some cohesion in the storyline.

So right now I am writing a scene where the King meeting with a group of surface people of influence to determine how to handle the upcoming massacre. It serves to explain some of the opinions of everyone on the surface people, reveals where the Natal house is (as far as I am aware I didnt reveal that in Homecoming song) [ Technically I did in the second draft of Song fo Betrayal before I broke the book in half and added Pyhrric Victory song to it. However, since that will be edited once I finish this, I could still change it so I did.], gives you a glimpse of things I hinted at in Song of Betrayal and gives the most thorough walk through of the connection between NYC/Lafayette yet.

This story is hard, not because of the what it is or how it ends but because I know who Lorelei now. When I first wrote the first draft of Song of Betrayal (back when it was Run to You), I didn’t think anything about it. Yet as I kept and developed the school and Coach Sylvan and Coach Grace and Gwen, I learned more and more. Now I find it difficult to say good bye even temporarily.

That’s is exactly what Tom feels. He’s never found someone who loves him for who is: a street wise Detriot punk who got lucky enough that his dad was roadie for a major band and his mom Police secretary. Suddenly for a year the world opens for him. 90 days he’s connected with this magical lady who ‘gets’ him and pushes him to be better.

He’s not about to let her go and that alters everything. Even her prophecy of her own death. You all have seen him take down Coach Delamort. Yet there is so much more syrrounding it, like why she decides to go into statis, who does it (Chelsey) and how this ties into the prophecy itself.

When I am done, this will be it for the time from 2006-2008. Song of Restoration, which deals with Aria’s golden ticket theft and Gwen becoming the princess, is in mid 2009. Really, all I have to do is pull out the Jenn scenes now and finish the edit. It will be ready too.

Thoughts on the Bowling Green Massacre…

Well, I must first thank Kellyanne Connelly for the fictional massacre to motivate me to be creative. I needed a small push because things got away from me. This happened to be that push. Truth is you enver know what it takes to get you over the hump. Nevertheless, this will actually be an update on the stories and background.

So what is happening? Alot actually. First, I will actually have a ‘Bowling Green Massacre in 2011 just like she said but also with Fredrick Douglass (not the historical figure one though) . It fits the direction I am going and considering its a college town, there is ample opportunity. I however will use the mining pits outside the town for the brutal horror. Its better imagery.

Second, I have adjusted another location in Lafayette. While never actually revealing the physical location of Gwen and Aria’s houses yet in published works, I do have a Google earth map of the city that did have their actual locations on it. When I went to actually use this for a scene in Heartbeat song I realized that the area Aria was in was River Ranch, a newer subdivision.

This is fine for Gwen and the Bretons as they moved from Australia in the 1990s. Its not good for the Natals as the gate is supposed to be in a fixed location since 1780. There are no buildings in that area from that period and no reason for such as its the same Vermillion river just down stream. So I moved the Natal House to across the street from Cafe Vermillion which has been in existance since at least 1812.

The quick and dirty is that both buildings were built at the same time by Vann’s Grandfather who was a Laurents. In all the stories I have included Shelly, Aria’s mother in, I have never revealed her actual last name only her house name. Laurents is a french name and blends into the fabric of the city better. Also a quick explanation of the house etc is in the story as well.

This brings me to the fact that as I am working on Heartbeat song I ran headlong into another issue. If there is an school shooting that envolves IEDs and massive causalities the hospitals in Lafayette can’t handle it. Without Charity and the other LSU hospitals ion New Orleans, the Primary trauma 1 hospital was in Sherveport or Houston. (Yes I am aware they did assign one post Katrina but it was ill-equiped to actually handle the load)

So I was left with solving that problem. First I figured I would upgrade the hospital, Lafayette general. Yet it would not be capable as the population wouldnt justify it. (I squeaked by with Forest Hills because of LSU and the CajunDome and making Booker Field old. This would be handwaving the solution away)

That left New Orleans. While Baton Rouge is closer. New Orleans is larger and up until Katrina had one of the Best hospitals in the country there: Charity Hospital. When I discovered why Charity was permanently closed (I won’t elaborate here other than to say LSU greed, however that overlooks alot of side issues) I decided to save the hospital. Doing so allows you all to actually meet Tyrion Cetus so when he dies in Song of Redemption, it will have meaning (like how Lorelei’s does now). Haven’t worked out all the plans yet but it envolves preventing the hospital from flooding during the MR-GO, Industrial canal, and London Avenue canal breechs. Something involving hard light constructs.

Most people were unaware (outside of the residents who were very much aware) that almost the entire city flooded from the canal breachs except the French quarter. Charity was in the CBD near the Superdome. Yet its basement and some of the first floor flooded.

Keeping the hospital fully operational (by revealing exactly how the Assembly handles Natural disasters) will allow it to remain into 2007 and on into my 2017. I will use the upgraded plans for the Hospital for my now timeline. It also means I will have a crap load of lifeflights from the attack as the criticals will be handled there. Thats the idea.

Finally, the Faking It! connection is gone as it will take too long to fully integrate into my world. I am keeping what I worked on in Heartbeat song but the fan fiction will be just that. Amy’s existential crisis of looking like Lorelei when she feels the exact opposite was in a fun challenge yet it detracted from where I am going with the story.So no Amy or Karma in my world anymore. Sorry.

I view Heartbeat Song be the connection to Song of Betrayal without actually tying into it. It will end the first series (which had Lorelei as the main character and Gwen as a minor character) yet open the path for Gwen to become the woman she is in Song of Betrayal.

Finally after this and finishing the editing of Song of Redemption, I will beack to open creation as that will finish the second series. (Song of Betrayal, Song of Redemption, Homecoming Song). Christmas circle is a follow up on A view from the street and not tied to the main story even though it has Tom in it.

The final 3 books (or next three depending on if I have more story) will take place in 2016 with the ressurrection of Lorelei, Gwen being queen and a musician like Becky, who at the time of this post, just finished singing at Club Nomatic in Houston.
